- We make the MRI experience comfortable, pleasant, safe and efficient for patients.
- We provide superior service, quality, and support for our patients’ referring physicians.
We want patients to leave American Health Imaging with the confidence that their care was top-notch. That’s why we guarantee our performance to all patients and to their physicians. Please feel free to fill out our patient survey card and let us know about your experience at Marietta Imaging!
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) uses a magnetic field and radio waves (no radiation) to create an image of many parts of the body, especially the brain, spine, and joints.
With the installment of the Siemens Wide Bore MAGNETOM Aera 1.5T MRI American Health Imaging now offers more enhanced patient comfort and power in MRI exams at the Marietta, GA radiology suite.
The addition of this new MRI scanner has expanded access to diagnostic imaging that supports a complete range of clinical applications, including neurology, orthopedics, body imaging, angiography, cardiology, breast imaging, and oncology.
Like all MRI’s the MAGNETOM Aera uses magnets that are measured in Tesla (T) to acquire images. At 1.5T, the MAGETOM Aera offers superb image quality that may be used for a wide range of medical needs – from orthopedic and sports-related injuries or to diagnosing many diseases and disorders.
The MAGNETOM Aera boasts a 70 cm wide bore – the tube-like structure of an MRI machine, where the patient lies during the imaging process – and can provide access for obese patients of up to 550 pounds. Additionally, the system’s ultra-short bore (145 cm) can help to alleviate concerns of claustrophobic since many exams can be performed with the patient’s head outside of the bore.
The system is equipped with two exclusive technologies that further enhance the patient-centered care. The results of this technology are faster, more comfortable exams and excellent image quality for radiologists and doctors.
A typical exam will last between 20 and 45 minutes and requires no special preparation. You should eat normally and follow the normal dosage of your prescribed medications unless your doctor gives instructions to do otherwise.
Because an MRI is an expensive procedure, physicians tend to recommend one only when they feel that it is truly necessary. Patients who receive a referral for an MRI should follow through so that they can receive the most accurate diagnosis possible. The cost of an MRI varies widely, and patients should investigate their options to be able to find a lower-cost alternative. Quality of care is another critical factor in a patient’s decision.
We provide our Marietta MRI services at the most competitive prices to be better able to serve patients in the local area. We also offer an experienced staff of knowledgeable radiologists and MRI technologists, caring nurses, and expert physicians. Patients visiting any of our Atlanta MRI locations can be certain of good care.
